Being found more than 80 years ago, NIIOSP has functioned as a research Institute in the field of geotechnical design and underground construction. Nowadays, NIIOSP is a leading company in foundation engineering in Russia. Its activities cover a broad range of geotechnical research and design, as well as high-rise construction, protection and reconstruction of existing buildings, engineering and foundation construction in complicated geological and climatic conditions. NIIOSP is a leading participant in developing National Codes and Standards and other associated documents for construction. Its experience gained for more than 80-year-period has been accumulated in training and educational programs produced for post graduate and post doctoral researches. Presently, NIIOSP is a subsidiary of a large construction scientific and research center "NIC "Stroitelstvo".
